After an ill-advised foray into the dating world, Abbi is forced to confront her sexuality, worldview, and goals in this romcom-inspired story. This graphic novel is currently in production and is expected to be released in late 2022.
This project was developed as an exploration of tropes and narrative conventions of romcom stories, as well as an exercise in drafting a comic in screenplay format.

November 1957, the Santa Cruz mountains. Steven Asche is on the run from his past and the law when he takes refuge with the mysterious residents of Convent Grove. As the web of lies and social niceties grows, only one thing is for certain: Nothing is as it seems in Convent Grove.
20 pages, black & white, published by Push/Pull Press in Seattle, WA.
This comic was written to explore the truth, lies, and “storytelling embellishments” that shape how we talk about ourselves and interact with others, as well as a love letter to the 20th century history of the San Francisco bay area.
